Travel plans

One of the things we didn’t get to do this year was travel. I hope we can travel next year. Most of my friends have booked travel vacations already like orlando vacations and of course to Disneyland. I am just waiting for a big project to push through and a main goal of the family to materialize before I book our family to the land of Mickey Mouse. I hope it will be soon.

All for Beauty

I have been looking for possible cosmotology schools for a friend. She has made up her mind would like to pursue a degree on cosmetology (hair cutting, hairstyling, hair coloring and makeup) after two years of pursuing a computer science course. She has always been the fashionable lady in our group so it doesn’t come as a big surprise for me. Right now I chanced upon this web directory called FindABeautySchool and it allows one to search for schools by state and zip code! It cant get any cooler than that! They are the most complete, convenient beauty school directory on the Web.

Holiday parties

As early as now, we have been receiving Christmas party invitations left and right, and everyone in the family is invited! Almost all our friends are already married and have kids so parties now are planned with kids in tow. It is harder to organize and since we live so far, every party becomes an outing for us. I pack so much stuff. I am not complaining though. The parties are so much fun and the kids get a lot of gifts so everything is worth it.

Trying to be chef

One of the things I had a hard time adjusting to when I stayed at home (even now, 18 months later) is the everyday cooking. I love to eat (that’s why I need an appetite suppressant) but I don’t love to make what I eat. It is hard work for me to whip up something in the kitchen – even now when I have been trying to do it every single day since last year. So whenever I have the extra money, I always make sure to treat the family outside – happy tummies, happy mommy because she won’t do any cooking :)

Capella University

With the advent of technology and the internet reaching millions of users all at once and enhancing communication, it is easier for people who want to get a degree but need to work. Our Hummer

Our vehicle is a simple jeep. It was originally owned by my father-in-law who gave it to my husband when we moved to the suburbs. It’s pretty beat up and there are times when I actually hate it especially when its maintenance costs are too high and it drains our already empty pockets. But I am grateful we still have a mode of transportation and it takes us places. Our goal before the second quarter of the year is to buy a new one and as early as now I am looking for auto insurance quotes that we can have it applied under.

Still de-cluttering

I was able to get rid of almost 50% of the kids’ toys last week. It is still not over though as I have to weed through their stuffed toys, clothes and books and decide which one needs to be thrown away, given away or sold. My kids, I realized, have a lot of books. I have kept my son’s schoolbooks since he began studying and he is now on third grade! Add my college books (I took up two courses) and you can imagine how my house is full of books. I got a great idea to sell textbooks online from a web site and I think I may just do that. It will allow me to de-clutter and earn a little money on the side.

holiday season

One sure sign that the holidays are coming is the weather changes. It gets cold here where we live and just last night, I forgot to bring light jackets for me and my daughter when we went out to have coffee and I was freezing already. I took out their long-sleeved pajamas, sweaters, hats, scarves and jackets for easier wearing too. We don’t use the fan at night and it is still cold, I might need an electric blanket to keep warm. I love this kind of weather – cold but not raining, perfect bed snuggle weather!

An Accomplishment for the house

I am happy that I get to accomplish one of my yearly goals, if only to a certain extent – I got to finally order furniture for the house, and one thing I am proud of is that we did not need to avail of the payday loans being offered at the husband’s office to buy everything. It all came from the savings I had stashed with a friend coupled with the savings I stashed from another Paypal account. We had everything custom built – the bed with bedframe, my workstation, my son’s study table with bookshelf with glass doors and his bed too. I just need a dresser, an altar table and a pantry cabinet and I am done!!!

Workstation

I am happy and satisfied with the workstation we ordered today. Finally, after almost a year of wanting and then trying to justify that I do not need one, we finally ordered one. It is custom-made as we have a small house and we will be putting it up against a blank wall in our dining area. It will have space for two desktop computers even if we only have one because we might get another one in the future if funds will grow. I will try to post pictures once it is done. Production takes 10-12 days.

Bookkeeping

Building a home is going to be a very expensive adventure. One needs to be prepared financially and emotionally, as it will be a very long road ahead. Especially if they got a loan to have it started.

You might want to consider hiring a Las Vegas accounting firm to handle bookkeeping for you. Especially if real estate is going to be your forte for business. I have an aunt who has a business of single apartments.

KondlerCPA is qualified to handle organizations in all industries however they have a vast amount of experience in the following industries:

  • Homeowner Associations
  • Casinos/Gaming
  • Contractors
  • Developers
  • Retail/Convenience Stores
  • Professionals (Medical, Attorneys, Engineers)
  • High Net-Worth Individuals
  • Entertainment
  • Bars and Restaurants
  • Internet
  • Apartment Complexes
  • Auto Dealerships
  • Ski Areas
  • Petroleum Distribution

Effective Use of Space

Kitchen nook

This one is perfect for small spaces too. You can just have it installed to be able to have a linear separation for the kitchen and dining room. I love the countertop too – should be easy to clean, don’t you think?

I would tuck this in my idea list.

We have very limited space at home so I try to look for furniture that would be multi-functional and at the same maximize our space. This would be perfect for the kids’ playroom! The kids have a lot of books so I am looking for creative ways to store them – easy to reach for them but fast to organize (and clean).

Romantic riviera maya

Who doesnt know the Riviera? A strip of beach located at Mexico’s most sought after Caribbean beaches, a perfect romantic vacation riviera maya is on top of everyone’s vacation wish list. There are newly launched cancun hotels that cater to people from all walks of life. From families, newlyweds, even folks with unique personalities (nudists). Because I like to eat, Id like to try their Gourmet Inclusive restaurant in one of the Karisma Hotels.“Gourmet Inclusive” is an entirely new concept that caters to sophisticated world travelers who have already come to expect and appreciate the fine details behind a good dining experience. Yes, everything is included. But no, this is not your ordinary inclusive fare, service or locales. Karisma’s gourmet-level cuisine is served in sleek and sensual sit-down locales and fashion-forward bars. You won’t find a buffet table here (except for kids-they like them). What you will find is cooking that meets the standards of the best restaurants, prepared in a way that will excite and surprise the senses. Special touches include bars equipped with real swings or hanging beds, bars with iced tops to keep drinks frosty cold, tequila lounges with 30 artisanal tequilas on offer, private-label wines from vineyards in Argentina’s Mendoza Valley chosen and offered as they would be in the best restaurants—by experienced sommeliers.

7 Habits of Highly INEFFECTIVE People.

1. Not showing up.One of the biggest and simplest thing you can do to ensure more success in your life – whether it be in your social life, your career or with your health – is simply to show up more. If you want to improve your health then one of the most important and effective things you can do is just to show up at the gym every time you should be there.

2. Procrastinating half the day. To keep it short, my 3 favourite ways to get out of a procrastinating state are:

A good start in the morning lifts your spirits and creates a positive momentum for the rest of the day. That often creates a pretty productive day.

Split a task into small actionable steps. Then just focus on the first step and nothing else. Just do that one until it’s done. Then move on to the next step.

I find this guided mediation to be very useful. After 20 minutes of mostly just lying on my bed and listening I’m far more productive for a few days.

3. When actually doing something, doing something that isn’t the most important thing right now. When you have prioritized using this rule just write down the top 3 most important things you need to do that day. Then, from the top, start doing them. Even if you just get one of the things done, you have still done the most important thing you could do today.

4. Thinking too much. Compulsively thinking and thinking and thinking is just another way to waste your time. You don’t have to examine everything from every angle before you try it. And you can’t wait for the perfect time to do something. That time never comes. And if you keep thinking you’ll just dig yourself down deeper and deeper and taking action will become more and more difficult. Instead you just need to stop thinking. Shut of your mind – it just helps you up to a point – and go do whatever you need to do.

5. Seeing the negative and downsides in just about anything.

When you see everything from a negative perspective you quickly punch a hole in your own motivation. You find faults everywhere and problems where there are really none. You cling to details. If you want to find a reason to not do something then that’s no problem. From a negative viewpoint you can find ten reasons every time.

6. Clinging to your own thoughts and being closed to outside influences.

It can be hard to admit that what you thought or believed was not the best alternative. So you cling to your thoughts harder and harder and keep your mind closed. This makes it hard to improve and for instance to become more effective. Even really considering the possibility that you can change your life can be difficult in this position.

7. Constantly on information overload. With information overload I don’t just mean that you read a lot. I pretty much mean an overload in all input. If you just let all information flow into your mind it will be hard to think clearly. It’s just too much stimulation.
