Skiing and SnowboardingPosted by admin on February 11th, 2010
The Midwest has been hit with record-breaking snowstorms this week and friends from the affected states have been posting status updates with corresponding photos at Facebook and I am shocked with the amount of snow that has fallen already. Weather forecasts predict more snow coming in with potential blizzards so classes have been suspended and most offices have ordered their employees to work from home.
Most kids who are experiencing their first snowstorm were all excited and built snowmen and played around the snow for two days. On the third day, my friends told me they were complaining at being stuck at home and have declared they officially hate snow. I am sure they would change their minds when they get older. Ski resorts have always been popular destinations for vacations with college students and families. Skiing and snowboarding in the mountains can cause quite the thrill, really. Why do you think Lake Tahoe is so popular? Situated in the Sierra Nevarda about 200 miles from San Francisco, it sure is a popular place for ski resorts for people in the West Coast who rarely or almost never gets snow all year round. I haven’t tried skiing yet and I am honestly scared to try – but for once in my life, I’d like to try things that scare me before I die
