Keeping it simple: Pneumatic Valves, Hydraulic Rams, and Compressed Air Dryers

I like to keep things simple, uncomplicated, and practical. With so many others things in life to worry about, I honestly think that I don’t have enough time to figure out how everything in the world works. Besides, why should I?

For me, it’s good enough to know how a car moves, or to a certain extent, even how its engine works. But aside from that, things like Pneumatic valves or valvetrains are nothing more than fancy terms to me. Or more appropriately, they are terms for the auto mechanic and not for me. After all, I don’t see myself sliding underneath a car, pretending like a grease monkey, and replacing engine parts and other stuff. (I could probably consider being behind the steering wheel, but never underneath the car.)

I have no desire to explore how things like Compressed air dryer work. For as long as they prevent corrosion, rusting, spread of microbes, and all the other things that the salespeople say they’d prevent, then they’re good enough for me.

If there comes a point when I do have to choose between particular models of Hydraulic rams for my fountain, for example, then that’s the time I’d go and research about such things. But until then, I’d rather keep my mind preoccupied with the more important things in life – my children, my husband, and my work.
