I’ve always been curious about getting a CCTV security camera in the house. No, I don’t plan on making a film or video at home. I just want to install one for the following reasons.
Monitoring purposes
A camera could help monitor the things going on at home, especially when I’m away. It is, after all, a bit comforting to know that everything went well even if I was not the one taking care of the house and the kids. It would be reassuring to see that the kids are eating properly, going to bed early, doing their homework on time, and are being well taken care of. I don’t even need live streaming or fancy Data cabling for that. A camera recording would suffice.
Deterrent for bad people
The presence of cameras in the house is a natural deterrent for people with bad intentions. Let’s face it. No one is brave enough or dumb enough to do something bad especially when they know they’re being filmed. It may not be as effective as a security guard, but it’s the next best thing.
Finding out the culprit
Aside from shunning away people from doing bad things to you and your family, cameras can also be used to track who raids the refrigerator after dark, sneaks out of the house at night, or comes home really late. With just a few tweaks on the Network cabling, it’s like having your very own private detective.
