The Seattle contractor that once was a dreamerPosted by admin on September 6th, 2010
Things really have different and often unpredictable ways of unfolding. You see, I had a classmate back in high school that was always zoning out and daydreaming. Everybody in class was sure he would end up a bum because of his disposition and lack of interest in everything in school. Yesterday, I happened to come across his profile in a social networking site and was surprised to see how well he’s doing.
He is currently working as a seattle contractor in a recognized seattle construction company, a far cry from being a bum everyone thought he would end up to be. He has a house, a wife, and a baby girl to add to his many accomplishments. And he seems to have a lot of friends too. I just bet everybody in school would be really surprised too to find out about him, even our old teachers – the dreamer that is now a seattle general contractor.
I guess this just proves how unpredictable life is and how surprising people can be. We often get boxed by social standards, impressions, and our lack of imagination. We are usually so quick to judge things and people based on our expectations when the truth is, everyone in this world is unique. We are the only ones who determine our own limits and strength so no one has the right to judge us.
I just hope my children develop early the wisdom I once lacked, so that they too do not fall into the trap of expectations and being judgmental.
