Tips on How to Complete Your Baby’s NurseryPosted by admin on May 27th, 2011
When a couple finds out that they are expecting, they turn into excited would-be parents and spoil their child before he or she even comes out from the mother. Moms-to-be take care of themselves better, taking in every bit of pregnancy information she can get her hands on, listening to pregnancy advice, whether solicited or not and embarking on a different program on womens fitness which involves pregnant women.
When a couple finds out the gender of their baby, this is where they begin to get ideas for the baby’s room, the nursery. It is exciting and at the same time nerve-wracking, so the first step is to take a deep breath, relax and start looking around for inspiration, ideas and sample pictures.
Here are some tips on how to design your baby’s nursery:
1. Start early. Do not leave it to the last couple of months of your pregnancy before you start to make your plans. For a start, you are likely to be tired by then as your baby is sapping your energy and putting on weight. Starting early will give you the time you need to make all the necessary plans, makes budgeting easier and the process as a whole a lot less stressful.
2. Keep it simple. Remember the simpler your color schemes, the easier it will be to pair it with other items such a furniture and decorations.
3. Have a plan. Make a sketch on how and where you would like to put things and measure if it will fit.
4. Shop around. You are more likely to get better deals if you do not shop all at once from the same store. You can also consider having a baby wish list when your friends give you a baby shower.
5. Give space for growth and flexibility. Consider items that can last and can be used until your baby grows up, like a crib that can be transformed into a toddler bed or a high chair that can serve as an art chair in the future.
6. Have your own space there too. Chances are you will be spending a lot of sleepless nights with the baby when he arrives, so a comfortable chair or rocking chair, a rug, a table lamp and a few of your favorite things in the room can help you while away the time.
