How to Take Care of Harley Davidson Bikes

Having your own motorcycle provides you with an excellent way to travel in style and to make a statement. When it comes to these mean machines, Harley motorcycles are at the top of the heap. They are classics when it comes to motorcycles and have proven their expertise and reliability in making them. If you own one of these Harley Davison bikes, it is important to take care of your investment. These bikes increase in value over the years especially if they are in excellent condition. Below are some tips on taking care of your Harley.

Regular maintenance. Just like with any vehicle, regular maintenance is a must. Even Harleys for sale are regularly maintained by the sellers. There are numerous things that are involved in maintaining your Harley like maintaining the tires, valve stems, battery cables, brake rotors, brake pads, spoked wheels, and lights. Also, checking your oil and changing it regularly is a must. Motorcycle Accessories should be included. Aftermarket Motorcycle Parts are available at Cycle-Parts.com. If you can invest on quality parts, do so. These are integral parts of your motorcycle too.
Store your Harley well. Make sure your Harley is in excellent condition even during storage. Most of the time, you will not be able to use it during winter but make sure that you still perform the same maintenance check regularly. Also, your Harley could accumulate dust while in storage so clean it regularly and cover it when not in use. Take care of it like a car.

Tips for Charging Your Motorcycle Batteries

While motorcycle batteries need not be changed regularly, you would need to have them charged regularly as they lose their charge very easily. You can easily solve this problem by buying a battery charger at a battery store. A motorcycle battery charges faster than a regular car battery since it is smaller.

1.     Get a battery charger as soon as possible. Charging increases the efficiency of your battery. You don’t have to go to a shop to have it recharged each and every time.

2.     Buy the right motorcycle charger for your vehicle. The most common charger is the trickle charger – it recharges your battery slowly.

3.     Get the most compact charger so you can bring it with you while riding.

4.     Don’t just buy a charger. Make sure you maintain your motorcycle battery too. Some things to look for are clean and crack free cell caps, as well as any dirt or other deposits on the battery. Clean your battery thoroughly. If your battery requires water, make sure you put water in it, but not just any type of water. You want to use only distilled water as it has no deposits in it that could affect the charge of the water.

5.     Buying online can give you the edge of having to compare prices before ordering.

For the Motorcycle Enthusiast: Must-Have Harley Davidson Acccessories

What are make-up, shoes and designer bags are to us women, cars, guns and Harley motorcycles are to men. I do not know a man who has not gone wild ogling on harleys for sale. And just like us when we get dressed up, a man should be dressed from head to toe when riding his Harley.

Here are some must-have Harley davidson accessories for him:
1. The motorcycle jacket. It comes in different styles – expect to spend between $50 to $500 – and suits any budget.
2. Vests. If it’s warmer, one can choose to wear a vest instead.
3. Sunglasses. This, for me, completes the look. How many movies have we seen wherein a guy comes off his motorcycle and removes his sunglasses? One too many.
4. Bandannas. They are used to protect your mouth area from bugs, dust and exhaust. Prices start under $10.
5. Helmets. For safety purposes, obviously. These can be compared to the seatbelt of a car. Some States require them and some don’t. The commonsense rider will wear them for safety. Prices depend on quality and design. They start at under $30.
6. Gloves. They protect your skin from the elements and prevent blisters.
7. Boots.
8. Chaps
9. Keychains.

Have you dressed your man lately?

Car Repairs and Maintenance

My uncle has many cars but the one that is most precious to him is the Honda Accord. This car beats the Benz and the BMW cars he also owns simply because this is the first car he paid in full, straight cash. He is a rich man but he doesn’t believe in debt so he prefers to buy items, even big-ticket ones, in cash. He takes care of all of his cars, but when the Accord needs to go into the shop for maintenance and repair, he makes sure to get the best shop that does Honda car repair.

He has proven that going to RepairPal.com to look for a reputable repair shop (reliable, affordable and efficient) is worth it. One can find a list of usual problems in the brand of car, model, and year it was released by specifying and if one is looking to replace a car, an auto dealership directory is also available.

We do not have our own car yet, but we are leaning towards getting a Toyota within a year. I am now assured we can find the best repair shop thru RepairPal.com.

How Your Credit History Could Affect Your Cheap Car Insurance

Many people who drive and own cars purchase cheap car insurance. Many factors affect the premium of your car insurance and most people find ways to lower the premium that they have to pay. Some of the factors are the type of car that you drive, your age, your driving history, your gender, the safety features of your car, and many more.

However, not too many people know that their credit history could also affect their chances of getting cheap auto insurance. Auto insurance companies take your credit information into consideration in determining the premium that you have to pay. According to these auto insurance companies, the behavior of a consumer’s credit history is directly related to their expected claims. This means that people with good credit behavior are also less likely to make claims.

Most car insurance companies determine your credit score using numerous factors like past payment history, length of credit history, credit inquiries, number of credit cards, types of credit that you use, unused credit, and even public records on bankruptcy, collections, foreclosures, and many more. So the next time you are looking for cheap car insurance, make sure that you have an excellent credit history.

Cars – Toys for the Big Boys

My husband has been obsessed with cars lately. He would take note of every single car that would catch his fancy when we are out on the road driving. Sometimes we would have discussions whether we can buy a car now or hold off until we have a bigger amount to spend. We are still in between whether we will get a new car or save the money and go for a second-hand car instead. We don’t have that much money to begin with, anyway. If I can choose one, I would still go with a Kansas Ford vehicle, I fell in love with the Everest model. Sadly, we cannot afford it. I hope and pray we would be able to buy a big vehicle because we are a growing family – and we have BIG kids!

The SUV models of a Kansas Chevrolet and a Kansas Cadillac are nice too. I just am not familiar how much they are selling for.

A friend still wants to own a Kansas Lincoln one of these days.

A Great Family Car

A family car is one of our goals this year. I really hope we can make this happen. We are still discussing if we should get a second-hand car or invest on a new one, after all, if we can raise half the money, we can loan the other half. But it would delay our plans of having a downpayment for our house project. However, there have been unsolicited advice coming from well-meaning friends that used cars would eventually get more expensive with maintenance and repairs. We should pray we get lucky with a prized pre-loved car if ever we go that route.

I really would like a SUV, since I need to foresee my family’s need and growth. Plus, we travel lengthily quite often so having a big car where the kids can sleep is a plus. A honda pilot looks perfect!

I was initially into a Ford Escape for the size and shape (and the diesel usage) but once Honda came out with this, I was hooked. I wish we can afford it though. It has reviews of being a great family car without having to force one into being seen in a minivan. It also has another feedback that would make great for family cars – it is one of the safest vehicles in any class, with top crash-test results from both the federal government and the IIHS in frontal and side tests.
