Greige and Gold

I may fully support a pink hue (honeysuckle) for being Pantone’s color of the year, but neutrals will always be a popular and classic choice for house colors. Hot colors are neutrals, grays and creams and grieves of all varieties. Worried about being too subtle? See how a lot of designers are keeping things from getting dreary with a punch of gold. I often think about painting a loud color like chartreuse green or orange into one wall of the house to give it more energy. But it may overstimulated my already hyper kids that I’d need more anti wrinkle cream from all the stress!

Blue and Brown

I absolutely love this color combination, so very modern yet classic at the same time. They say brown is the new black, and I have to agree. It seems the shade of chocolate brown is matching pretty well with every other color in the color wheel! Don’t you agree?

How to Bring Color to Your Home

They say that color directly affects our moods that is why most people are strongly advised to seriously think over which colors they want their homes to be painted with. Once it’s done, it’s going to be hard to repaint everything (time+cost+arranging furniture around the house). If you are as fickle-minded as me, you would be best to stick to white walls (the most popular choice) and just draw out your frustration with colorful accents around the house or else you would need wrinkle face cream as early as now from too much stress!

Here are some color swatches and their meanings. I hope they can help you decide. I got this from the Decorology blog.
