I have made no secret of our family’s love for movies. We can seriously watch TV series we follow all day and have our dvd players burning up. The best investment we have made so far, aside from our savings, is completing our entertainment system at home. We bought ourselves a new TV complete with a home theater system last March and a multimedia HD player last August. Aside from that, we were also able to buy an XBox Kinect 360. Blame it on the husband who loves movies and games!

Now we have no reason to leave our house because we can entertain ourselves all day. We just stock up on food and new downloaded shows and movies and we are all set for long weekends. It has let us save more this year (though we are still off our mark) and hopefully we can buy another TV for our room in a couple months’ time.

One of our projects this year is to replace our current dining room and living room furniture. These pieces of furniture have been hand-me-downs from my parents, which have endured (and survived) moving houses from south to north and back nine times.
We will have our dining room furniture replaced first. We already have a design in mind and we are just waiting for a good deal at the mall so we can buy it, or have someone refer us to a reliable custom furniture maker. They are still presentable and it holds sentimental value. Our sofa has been with the family since the year I was born. So this sofa is the same age as me, my mom never fails to tell me that every time I bring up the subject of buying a new one.

I also keep changing my mind whenever I would think about what type of sofa I want for our home. Sometimes I want it sectional and big and full of pillows, other times I just want it stand-alone couches with a love seat. The only thing that is constant is I am not buying any leather sofas! I just find it too hot to sit on, even if it requires minimal maintenance.

For now I am leaning towards a sectional sofa.
