Shower Trays

Updating an existing bathroom, or adding a new one, is a smart way to increase your home’s value, but what if you have limited space and a tight budget?

Shower trays could be your affordable solution.

A shower tray is the floor of the shower (the part you stand on). Because they come in many different materials, colors, sizes and shapes, their versatile beauty works well with any wall finish you choose, at a price that’s right for every budget. They range in price from as low as $100.00 to a hefty $1500.00, and because of the variety of colors and finishes, the decorating possibilities are unlimited.

Shapes:

There are square shapes for corner installations, bow fronts (two straight sides and a curved front—think pregnant triangle), u-shaped, rectangular (for walk-in showers) and circular models with claw feet. Quadrant (an elongated version of bow front) and pentagonal styles are also available. The depth of the tray varies from 4 to 6 inches, and there are even flush models, ideal for wheel-chair access. It’s recommended that you consider your available space, and choose the largest size possible for the most comfortable shower experience.

Manufacturers offer a wide variety of colors, finishes and materials. High glass acrylic surfaces (acrylic reinforced with fiberglass) are lightweight, stain and scratch resistant, and are often textured to prevent slipping. Slightly pricier are the steel enamel trays which are almost flush with the floor, highly durable, and ideal for wheelchairs – they just roll right over them. Stone resin models (combinations of natural stone and resin) are slightly higher in price, known for superior durability and rigidity with acrylic gel topcoats that are known for their warm touch to the feet. At the top of the line are copper trays with hammered surfaces to insure against slipping, or nickel-plated for superior style and beauty.

Very Tempting.

We almost bought ourselves a Samsung HDTV last weekend. The price was on sale if we paid in cash and we get a home theater system for free as well. We really wanted to buy it right then and there but as luck would have it, we just put in our savings into a time deposit account so it can gain more interest. I guess it was God’s way of telling us that the time is not yet right. We told ourselves there will be more irresistible deals by the time Christmas time draws near anyways.

Lovely Entryway

image

I have always thought that mirrors were a necessity in entryways as they are traditionally narrow and mirrors would help open up the space. It is also functional because people can take one last look of themselves before heading out. It’s how you present the mirror is the tricky part. This picture presents how mirrors can frame a general picture – and be lovely! Now I am off to look for effective diet pills

Organizing your Vanity Dresser

I cannot stress the importance of having a vanity dresser to my husband. I have told him it is essential for my peace of mind that all my Clinique makeup is organized and stashed neatly somewhere. I would also like a territory that is just mine, a female territory for my beauty routines. Since this piece of furniture is used very often, it becomes important to choose the set carefully. The purpose of a vanity dressing table is to provide you with space to get ready for the day and storage space for your things.

As with any other woman, I love make-up. I am quite partial to Clinique products as I have sensitive skin and their products are hypoallergenic and gentle for my skin. Estee lauder makeup is the preferred choice of my mother though. I order our make-up loots online because going to the beauty counters at the mall is more damaging to my pocket! Besides, ordering online, especially at White’s East Hampton, saves me a lot of time and money and I am assured that I am ordering authentic products as well!

Here are some tips on setting up your dresser:

Location: The deciding factor for keeping this piece of furniture should be the place where you spend most of your time to get ready. Always remember that you have to use this table to pamper yourself, so choosing a space that is within an easy access would be the ideal one.

Vanity Items: How many do you have? Make sure it is enough for you to display and organize and see everything at once.

Vanity Set: You will find many vanity dressing tables simply with a matching table and a mirror.

The Design: It might be better if it matches the furniture around your bedroom or bathroom.

Whether or not she gets a placement on one of those job philly openings, Carrie will always be every girl’s fashionista icon! Yes, I am having SATC2 fever. Just look at the walk-in closet, before and after!

Here is her closet BEFORE:

And here is her closet NOW:

I honestly would be very happy if I even get half of her walk-in closet before she married Mr. Big.

Wouldn’t you love to have an armchair like this? The back is high enough to graciously curve the entire back for support!

CHELSI Two Seat Sofabed

A simple and modern take on sofa yet designed for a quick set up bed. Comes with pillows for added comfort; Changeable covers; Size perfect for small spaces.

Dimension: Sofa Length: 120 cm; Depth: 95 cm; Seat Height: 40 cm; Bed: 192 cm (L) x 120cm (W)

I would love to get this bed, we are thinking of replacing our living room couch and this would make a great sleep bed for guests. I guess I need to talk it over with the husband if we can afford to get this at this time. Or we can use his payday advance loan benefit and get this. It’s not our priority right now anyway, maybe if there is one on sale we will get it right away.

Look at how many styles one sofabed can have!

This is really perfect for small spaces – like our house! It comes in four swatches (the cover is washable) and while I would love to get one in white or tan, I know black would be our only option since we have kids who dirty the house all day.

Locsin Furniture

Sometimes it is hard to believe that Pinoys can be this talented!

Just look at all his work (more after the jump!) – truly amazing. This is one of the reasons why I am so inspired lately. Looking at nice things is really one of the most effective natural treatments for depression!

If you google him – “Locsin Furniture” – you will see a list of websites of furniture from Europe and overseas. I am not surprised! They use synthetic rattan by the way.

In 1979, Roberto M. Locsin established Locsin International, a Philippine manufacturer and exporter of furniture and lamps, together with his wife, Cindelyn B. Locsin. The formidable partnership led to what is now known as a trusted name in the international furniture market.

You can read more about them here.

Mobile Homes – New Trend of Houses?

It seems that mobile homes are the new trend for houses given that the real estate market is still in bad shape. Actually, you would be surprised about the new mobile homes out these days, they really are in with the design trend of houses done on site. Take a look at the sample mobile homes from AZChampion:

image image image image

Most of the time your payments on the home, and the lot rent combined are less then that of the area rental market. I think that is the main advantage. The mobile homes for sale are still sold a lot less than actual homes on real estate property. There are also a lot of misconception that mobiles homes are a bad investment.

Mobile homes in parks do go down in value, but mobile homes on privately owned land usually go up in value, particularly if the land is in demand. In certain desirable areas, in fact, you’ll find a lot of of mobile homes: property around lakes, for instance, where people have been living in mobile homes as vacation or retirement homes! Mobile home are movable – that’s the main advantage of it especially if you want to retire to a new place. Mobile homes also serve as vacation houses when families are on vacation – they just lug their homes around. Isn’t that neat? In case you would want to sell yours, make sure to keep it on great shape and you still can sell it for the amount you paid for within five years.
