Bedsheets

The bedsheets I ordered from Overstock.com during last year’s Black Friday Sale have arrived and sleeping has just become more luxurious. Add to that new RL pillows with anti-mite protective sheets and I cannot resist sleeping more than usual lately.

Here are the sheets I bought:

Camden Collection 350 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton Sheet Sets

(I got the chocolate sheets)

I am trying to stick with our colors – blue, green with brown in our room. It helps to coordinate colors so I can just mix and match them (cheaper too). I would be willing to apply for a payday loan if I can see duvets with such great prices. I want to invest on one duvet/comforter set so we can use them during the colder months. Finally having a bed makes me excited and willing to spend on sheets lately.

I need to dress up two single beds for the kids in a month. The colors would be primaries – red, yellow and blue. Let us see if I can resist throwing in pink stuff!

Appliances

We seriously need a new washing machine. I was able to accomplish getting the set of furniture we need for our rooms (save for my dresser/vanity table and my son’s study table), so we are moving on to other things. I actually just need a dryer but the husband wants a new washing machine that is automatic (tub, dryer) so I can have an easier workload. It is more expensive but we can avail of the small one and let the payment depend on the approval of payday loans we can apply for. We can pay for it in a month so the interest would not be that high.

As if I need more…

Shoes, that is. I currently have close to 20 pairs of shoes and only use two of them regularly. The others have heels, are wedges or just inappropriate for the work I do these days – be a nanny to two kids under seven :) . I use flip flops all the time – in fact, I have worn my GAP slippers thin already – I can feel the stones in the pavement whenever I walk using them. So I really dont need MBT shoes – really, I dont.

I need more slippers :) . You should see Martha’s stock – she ran out of shoes because her feet is too big (again) save for her trusty Crocs but she has FOUR different kinds of slippers, and yes, she rotates them for usage everyday.

Our Need for A Car

Or specifically, us and our need for a vehicle to get us around. I know I should be worrying about me learning to drive first, but Im sure it is super easy to learn how to drive after I recover from being easily shocked and surprise all the time. I remember the first time Edil let me handle the wheel, it was chaos. We were like galloping on the road and the car was our gallant steed :) .

Edil is going to be getting the car scheme from their company by next year and he will leave the jeep at home so I can go around. Here, having a vehicle is a necessity as everything is so far from each other (Im talking about miles here). The market, grocery store, the church, even the MALL, takes 30minutes to get to (and there is even no traffic). Edil has been very obsessed (mildly that is) with getting us our own car, our own home, etc. While I surely appreciate the efforts and planning, I told him we need to take it slow as we are going 100miles an hour with our life changes lately.

Back to the car talk, I really dont want a standard car, if given the choice. Id like an SUV (a 4-wheel drive) and/or a minivan so we can have more kids :) . When we go out, our jeep is packed with a pillow, bags, extra food (the kids and us munch during long drives – it’s cheaper than going to a drive-thru). Car Insurance Quotes are cheaper these days because of the sagging economy and analysts say that if you have extra money, now is the perfect time to invest on properties. Why, we just passed by the Ford dealer cars warehouse and they have an ongoing promo, that if you buy a car, you will get three years worth of car registration, one year car insurance and one year supply of gas FOR FREE!!!! Im sold on the gas alone!

Blur Blur Blur

I see blurry things lately and hate to admit I might need eyeglasses – me who had perfect vision despite of working in front of the PC for five years and studying endless nights nursing books. It might be high blood pressure or high blood sugar – in which case, Id gladly take the blurry eye vision :)

The problem is, I dont look nice wearing them. I dont have a nice straight nose and my eyes are too small to get recognized in glasses. I think I need the fashion police aka my sister Agnes to help me. LOL.

Any suggestions which glasses are nice to wear for a round face frame like mine?

Digital Frame

I need to find a way to display our thousands of pictures. And voila! I found a solution – I can get a digital frame!

Digital Frame

It would be such a cool thing to own especially with us who has tons of pictures – I can display our recent ones without having to pull money out for printing – and I can change it to my liking. My sister-in-law has one and they bought it from China where it is cheaper. I might have to request they buy two for me once they go back there.

Wii {we}

This one is a funny one. So the husband comes home yesterday loaded with goodies. He bought Matthew several Yu-gioh notebooks, Marvel comics and a basketball jersey. I got a new phone (slightly used, so I can use my other line), and Martha got nothing. Wait, she got french fries :) (She was happiest about it nonetheless). So after our massage, we sit together doing nothing, just eating leftover fries. He was apparently bored. So he blurts out, “Let’s buy a Wii.” And Im all, “Are you serious?” And then he says, “Of course NOT!” And we laugh. Matthew got all excited about it.

Im seriously going to buy one for us though, I just need to pay some bills and get my application for BON California done. It is cheaper when bought overseas so I just might have a relative (or Glo) buy us one. I was looking for accessories, consoles, games over at ShopWiki. Scrapping boards have Wii threads popping up most of the time so Im fairly excited the mommies like me are also getting hooked!

So hook me up. What Wii games do you recommend? I want adventure Wii games or simulation ones. I just saw a Super Mario Wii game and am beyond excited because this is the ONLY game Ive played when I was a kid :)

And then I learned Wii is pronounced with a long E :)

We need a new desktop.

Well, honestly, just an lcd monitor. But if you ask the husband we might as well upgrade everything. The LCD has been blinking on and off for sometime now but lately it has been blurring a lot as well. We are holding onto it as long as it will hold on its own as a new desktop isnt on our plans for the next couple of months. We are pretty heavy graphic viewers – watching movies, using Adobe a lot so the monitor is extremely important to us (good thing I have G!).

Taking care of G.

So G has been with me for around more than month now, and she has been a family computer as well. No matter how hard I try to keep her clean, I still see thumbprints of the kids on the screen and the cover of my lappytop. So I busted some more money over at CD-R King to get a laptop cooling pad, screen protector, microfiber cloth (functions like a microfiber mop for lint without scratching surfaces), and a cleaning kit.

And whaddayaknow I havent even opened it still.
Very very aggie yeah?

Going (Window) Shopping.

I finally got the chance to drool for some gadgets today. Forget about my search for the perfect furniture and kitchen equipments for the new house. If money wasnt an issue, I’d have the latest gadgets known to man. That is one area where the husband and I really agree on – technology and over-all geekiness. With scrapbooking (digital) as a hobby, a camera, printer, scanner, laptop – all high quality of course – becomes a need. I already have the Canon Digital Rebel (EOS400d) and a pink Dell Inspiron 1525 (customized of course). The scanner we have is a Canon Lide Scanner (flatbed). So other than a few lenses I want for the Rebel – Ive been eyeing the macro lens, I need a printer.

The question is, shall I go Epson or HP? (Ive been pretty loyal to Canon all my life but scrapbookers have been recommending Epson a lot).

Epson Stylus Stylus R800 Photo PrinterThe Epson R800 printer is a very recommended printer among scrapbookers – the only setback I have is their ink is quite expensive. I might convince my husband to buy me that though. Note that Ive been trying to convince him for two months already. I think it is bad timing with the house move and expenses piling up (in addition to my resignation). I like having to window shop online at Mpire.com as they provide comparison on prices on different shops.

Western Digital My Book™ Essential Edition (WDG1U5000N) 500 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive And for somebody who downloads GBs of stuff on the web (mp3s, korean dramas and scrapbooking kits), I need an external hard drive to serve as a back up of my stuff. I pretty much have decided on a Western Digital My Book™ Essential Edition 2.0 (1000 GB) 1 TB USB Hard Drive – just waiting for a sale and the big baby will be mine :) . I think I will get a 500GB for a back of the back up too.

There goes my gadget needs. I hope extra money will come in so I can finally buy them.
